Chantal Sébire, a retired 52 year-old French teacher, suffers from an extremely rare form of cancer in the nasal cavity known as an esthesioneuroblastoma.

Her request to turn to euthanasia, the practice of medically-assisted death, is rejected by the court on 17th March. She was found dead in her home two days later.
